Today’s spotlight is on Heidi Dakin – her story is all about believing in oneself and putting in the blood and sweat to make incredible things happen. Heidi has completed her ACCA Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting and Business from University Centre Rotherham after completing 3 chartered ACCA exams.
Heidi has been on a remarkable journey since starting at College. After selling her well-known bar in Wickersley (Vasco), she wanted to steer her career in a different direction. A catalogue of obstacles was in her way, including an acute medical condition and constant professional and personal barriers to overcome.
Four years in College and she’s there, fully qualified and now furthering her professional status with Certified Accounting Technician modules in Advanced Taxation and Advanced Audit. She is a credit to herself and indeed College. Not only this, she acts as a student ambassador for the group and also bakes most weeks for her peers in class.
Heidi has not only received consistent support from her tutors, she has also been acknowledged and praised for her hard work by all her teachers. Here is one quote from her favourite tutor:
