Finance Officers help to manage the finances of an organisation by overseeing book-keeping, general accounting and other financial and related clerical functions.

Day-to-day tasks**
  • Recording financial transactions on computer systems
  • Producing financial forecasts and carrying out financial audits
  • Dealing with payroll, invoices, expenses and VAT
  • Resolving payment queries for external contractors
  • Creating monthly, quarterly and annual budget reports
  • Presenting report findings to finance managers

Event Manager

Event Managers organise and coordinate events, business conferences and exhibitions and run promotional, business and social events.

Day-to-day tasks**
  • Plan events to cater for a clients brief, within a set budget and timescale
  • Research venues, contacts and suppliers, and negotiate prices
  • Book venues, entertainment, equipment and supplies
  • Oversee the design of publicity material and promote events
  • Sell exhibition stand space and arrange sponsorship deals
  • Follow health, safety and insurance regulations
Working environments

At an office, event venue or a client’s business. The role may require travel and nights away from home.
