Please see the below ‘Safety Net’ guidance regarding the Sheffield Hallam University’s ‘No Detriment’ approach to Covid 19.
This guidance applies to all students studying on a Sheffield Hallam University validated programme.
- From January 25th, 2021, if students request an assessment extension, they will be given a 10-day extension (rather than 5-day) and do not need to provide evidence of their circumstances.
- If students need longer, they can submit a request to repeat an assessment attempt (RRAA).This means they will submit (or resubmit) their work in the next assessment period. If the RRAA is for reasons related to Covid-19, they do not need to submit further evidence.
- If the RRAA is accepted, but the student has already passed the module at 1stsit, they can choose to repeat the assessment to improve their mark.
- There will be a process in place to adjust marks at Departmental Assessment Boards if there is evidence of underperformance across a particular module. This will be similar to Semester 2 of 19/20 and we will provide more information in due course.
