Cost of an HE Education
Last year an article written by the BBC on the rising cost of Higher Education (HE) cited that the UKs highest debt was around £231,000 following a BBC Freedom of Information request.
It has been 15 years since tuition fees were tripled in England. Fees will rise to £9,535 per year across all UK nations from September 2025, though in Scotland, Scottish students are charged a maximum of £1,820. Debts are written off at the end of loan terms – often 30 years – regardless of how much is owed by that point.
Here at the RNN Group, our HE fees are much lower – around £7,000 per annum and £4,000 for a part time course.
Our Courses
Courses range from accountancy to performing arts, animal management to graphic design, IT to Health and Social care, engineering to media and teaching to construction… there is something for everyone.
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs)
We also offer a number of higher skills options including Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), which are specialist technical courses developed with employers and delivered by industry experts.
HTQs have been developed in partnership with employers and are delivered by industry experts and focus on the skills, knowledge and behaviours that are in-demand by employers. They can also act as a stepping stone to further study, such as an apprenticeship or undergraduate degree.
HN Flex Courses
This year we are introducing HN Flex options and focus on short-term skills solutions for long-term career aspirations. HN Flex is a new study option at the RNN Group from September 2025, allowing you to undertake selected modules of a university-level course on an individual basis. Modules are available in Business, Computing, Engineering, Health Science and Modern Methods of Construction.
They are a great option for anyone who wishes to increase their skills and knowledge without committing to studying for an entire qualification. HN Flex modules are available to undertake separately or stack into a larger qualification.Â
Further Higher Education Information

Applicants can apply all year round directly to University Centre Rotherham (saving you £28) or through UCAS and we consider contextual applications in our admissions journey too. This means that we take into consideration an applicant’s individual circumstances and background when reviewing their application, rather than solely focusing on their academic achievements.
Universities can consider factors such as an applicant’s socio-economic status, family background and the quality of the schools they attended when making admissions decisions. This allows us to widen participation and fair access and welcome applications from students of all backgrounds.
We offer financial support as we know for many £7,000 is a lot of money. Cost of living support is also found locally for learners who need this help.
One of the Group’s core values is inclusivity and we aim to support that with the opportunities listed above as much as we can as well as delivering on a wide range of courses.
