Graduation Day at the RNN Group
This week we are delighted to be celebrating the achievements of our Higher Education (HE) students who have studied with us across the Group in recent years and have now completed their course.
This celebration is their Graduation – a momentous occasion in their lives – and will be held this year again at the New York Stadium, Rotherham.
It is a proud occasion for us all: students, parents, carers, family members and staff, and we all enjoy watching our learners who have worked so hard in the last few years achieve this amazing accolade here in Rotherham and receive their certificates of graduation at the ceremony.
For us at the RNN Group, we could not be prouder of our learners and their achievements and the staff who have helped them to learn, develop and succeed.
As a Group, we formally started our HE focus in 2018 with the opening of the University Centre Rotherham (UCR) in which many of our learners have enjoyed three years of study. This state of the art higher education centre in the heart of Rotherham was built to support learners from the local area to realise their dream of going to university, whilst not having to travel too far as well as being able to choose a more affordable alternative to study at this level.
In 2022 we extended our offer to members of the Bassetlaw community by starting up HE Courses in The Bridge Skills Hub, Bassetlaw Council’s flagship regeneration project supported by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership. This project aims to create further opportunities for the Bassetlaw community and the RNN Group started delivering courses at the Hub in early May 2022 and we have been developing our offering there ever since.
Not only do we offer degrees and foundation degrees, but we also offer HNCs and HNDs, Higher Technical Qualifications as well as Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships, the latter we are celebrating at our graduation for the first time this week. This year we have introduced HN Flex courses too – bite size chunks of learning to fit around busy lives. Many of these courses have been developed in partnership with employers and are delivered by industry experts and focus on the skills, knowledge and behaviours that are in-demand by employers.
Many of our HE learners consistently affirm how much they love learning at the University Centre Rotherham in the smaller, warmer and thus more caring environment that it offers and love that it is on their doorstep.
Finally, we know how much it means to learners and their families for them to have achieved this level of education and we feel honoured to share in this Rite of Passage this week. Have a wonderful day!
