Freshers’ Fun: University Centre Rotherham Welcomes Students with a Buzzing Fair!
The energy was palpable at the University Centre recently as we hosted our incredibly successful Freshers’ Fair! It was a fantastic day, filled with excitement, freebies, and a vibrant atmosphere that truly kicked off the academic year.
We absolutely loved seeing so many of our new and current students come out to explore, socialise, and familiarise themselves with everything our campus and community have to offer!
The Fair was a hub of activity, featuring a wonderful mixture of stands and stalls. Students got to meet representatives from various charities doing crucial work, browse unique handmade arts and crafts, and check out local gym companies eager to help them stay healthy. It was a great opportunity for students to sign up for clubs and our student ambassador scheme, find ways to volunteer, or simply discover services they can use throughout the year.
Of course, no Freshers’ Fair is complete without some treats! We kept the good vibes flowing by handing out tons of freebies, including delicious slices of pizza and ice-cold pop, which were a massive hit!
More than the giveaways, the day was really about the atmosphere. It was a lovely, relaxed occasion, making it easy for new students to feel instantly connected to the campus and for returning students to catch up. Adding to the fantastic buzz was Rotherham Radio, who were on-site to get live feedback from staff and students who sat down to go live, and they played amazing songs throughout the day, ensuring the soundtrack to our event was upbeat and high-energy!
University Centre Rotherham branded merchandise was and still is available to purchase! Our higher education students can still grab a variety of items, including hoodies, water bottles, pins, and pens. To purchase your merch, simply visit the reception desk and speak to a member of staff.
