Graphic Design Student Wins Inspirational Student Award
We’re proud to celebrate the success of one of our talented graphic design degree students, Rebecca Foster, who has been awarded the Inspirational Student Award at the UK Partner Inspirational Student Awards 2025, hosted by Sheffield Hallam University (SHU).
Rebecca, a mature student studying for her BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at University Centre Rotherham, has been recognised for her outstanding dedication, creativity, and resilience. Her passion for design, combined with her academic excellence and personal determination, made her a standout nominee for the award.
From the very beginning of her studies, Rebecca has shown exceptional commitment, embracing each module and challenge with enthusiasm. Her journey includes a standout work placement at Wentworth Woodhouse as part of the ‘Children’s Capital of Culture‘ project, which led to a paid internship where she promoted cultural events through her design work. Her pieces are even set to be displayed at train stations across the Yorkshire Coastline, bringing her creativity to the wider public.
What makes Rebecca’s achievement even more inspirational is her strength in the face of personal hardship. While excelling in her studies, she also supported family members through serious health conditions, continuing to show dedication and a positive attitude throughout.
Her impact goes beyond her own success, Rebecca’s passion has uplifted the entire class. She is a team player, a motivator, and an example to her peers. Her efforts have even inspired classmates to get involved in community arts, including volunteering at Wentworth Woodhouse.
This marks the second consecutive year that a student from our graphic design degree has won this award, reflecting the incredible talent and drive within the course at University Centre Rotherham.
Congratulations to Rebecca on this well-deserved recognition!
