A Heartfelt Goodbye to Our Wonderful Colleague

16 September 2025

After almost five years of dedication and hard work, we’re saying a bittersweet goodbye to our wonderful colleague, Beth Hall, as she moves on to her next exciting chapter!

Beth officially joined us as a HE Achievement Coach, a role in which she became an incredible source of support for both our Access to HE and Higher Education students. If you talk to anyone she worked with, you’ll hear nothing but praise for her. She has a unique ability to connect with students and provide them with the guidance they need to succeed. Her kindness and dedication made a real difference, and she will truly be missed.

Beth’s journey with us at the RNN Group and the University Centre Rotherham has been truly inspiring. She volunteered with us for two years while completing her teacher training. She even studied with us, earning her PgCE! This past academic year, she took on a new challenge, teaching within the Education and Professional Development team.

Beth is now taking a fantastic leap to pursue her dream of teaching full-time. While we’re sad to see her go, we couldn’t be prouder. We know she’s going to inspire so many students and make a massive difference in her new role.

Here are some quotes from staff:

Beth and I started our teacher training journey together, first by completing the Level 3 Award and then going on to complete the PGCE/Cert Ed. Throughout the training, Beth was a source of encouragement and support, especially when it came to the Specialist Conference.

As a peer, it was a joy to see Beth gain more confidence in her ability and it was a real privilege then to do the BA and have Beth teaching me, it was as if we had gone full circle. Beth has been a great support and has definitely made my journey that much easier. Her new students are lucky to have her!

Congratulations on your next step. From the perspective of a tutor, mentor, and colleague, it has been fantastic to see you grow into such an inclusive and passionate teacher. What has always stood out is that your practice has never been about your own progression, but about enabling others to succeed – both learners and colleagues alike. You have a rare gift for bringing out the best in people, and I know that personally you have given me the confidence and support to succeed in ways I might not have managed alone.

In my new role last September, I would have really struggled without you by my side. You will certainly be missed, but I have no doubt you’ll continue to inspire and uplift everyone you work with in the future. I couldn’t have had a better communities of practice.’
