A Heartfelt Send-Off for a Cherished Tutor!

The Wharncliffe restaurant at our Rotherham Campus was recently transformed into a scene of joy and celebration, all thanks to the incredible teamwork of our Business staff and students.

They secretly orchestrated a beautiful surprise leaving and baby shower for their much-loved tutor, Emma, making sure her departure for maternity leave was truly special.

The restaurant, usually bustling with catering students perfecting their craft, was adorned with a stunning balloon arch, there was vibrant decorations on the walls and tables, music playing throughout the restaurant, there were thoughtful touches everywhere.

Emma was showered with lots of flowers, cards, and gifts, as she walked through the door, a true testament to the affection held for her by staff and students.

The emotional highlight of the afternoon came when three of Emma’s students delivered heartfelt speeches where they spoke of Emma’s unwavering support and guidance, expressing how much she’ll be missed whilst also wishing her all the very best for this exciting new chapter! 

With fantastic help from the catering staff and students, a delicious buffet was laid out, accompanied by a beautifully prepared cake.

Laughter and warm wishes filled the air, making it a truly lovely afternoon for everyone involved. It was a wonderful display of the strong bonds and community spirit that thrive within the Group.  

The event was a beautiful reminder that learning extends beyond textbooks and lectures, encompassing the development of empathy, community spirit, and the ability to create meaningful moments.

As the afternoon ended, it was clear that this surprise maternity celebration was a true reflection of the respect and affection the students hold for their tutor, and a sweet send-off as she embarks on this exciting new chapter!
