Callum has a professional background in game development, specialising in creating rough game prototypes, developing mechanics and design documentation, and designing levels. He has collaborated with independent developers in the Sheffield area, such as Lazy Tea Studios, where he has contributed to the creation of prototypes as a lead designer and manager within small development teams.
Beyond his professional career, Callum is passionate about both gaming and Esports. He has actively participated in professional Esports competitions at both domestic and international levels, including events in the United States. His involvement has spanned various roles, including player, leader/manager, organiser, and coach.
Through his personal experiences as a professional game developer and former Esports player, Callum deeply understands and respects the rapidly growing Esports industry. He recognises the diverse range of specialised knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to succeed in this industry.
Callum believes that developing strong management and interpersonal communication skills, time management, conflict resolution, and understanding player psychology are crucial for success in Esports. Additionally, he highlights the importance of skills like creating robust rulesets, rapid problem-solving, and event logistics, which are highly sought-after in the business world.
