The BA (Hons) in Popular Music Performance and Production course offers our students the opportunity to be part of the Roland Music Academy. The Academy seeks to be innovative and explore new dimensions in the world of music performance and music technology.
The activities our students complete enable them to experience live projects with outside agencies and partners. This offers real life opportunities for building a portfolio of valuable experience and relevant employer links. Practical performance and production projects are created in our specialised facilities. These include live music rehearsal rooms, the regions only silent live performance suit, recording studios, editing facilities and a working studio theatre performance space.
Our students are continually encouraged and supported to work outside of the University walls and in industry. Work experience placements are supported at every opportunity and relevant considerations and adjustments are made in regards to coursework to ensure that students can make the very most of every opportunity they have.
Although all our students create a body of evidence that meets the requirements of their course, this is achieved by working as both an individual and as a member of a team. Teamwork is pivotal to the modern music industry and our programme is specially designed to enable students from technology and performance pathways to study together and combine their skills when working towards a common goal or product.
This course has achieved outstanding results for students across the entire area. Students can complete their studies and enter their desired area of employment or move onto complete a Master Degree.
