Health, Care and Wellbeing

Learning and wellbeing go hand in hand and it’s vital to us that your time here is healthy, holistic and happy. If you feel at your best, you’ll do your best.

Student support

Our student support staff are a helping hand and friendly face who ensure you make the most of your learning journey. Our staff are also always happy to chat through any concerns and queries.

Our Higher Education Achievement Coach offers academic skills and pastoral support, so you can improve a variety of assignment and organisation-based skills.

Using our Student Services team, you can also book rooms and resources, and be signposted to relevant staff who are happy to provide support tailored to your needs. This can include course guidance, financial support, sexual health advice, help to stop smoking, additional learning support, and more.

We listen to you

Your learning shouldn’t be a one-way transaction; we challenge you to always outdo yourself and expect you to challenge us too. Your voice matters, and we ensure there are opportunities for it to be heard.

We encourage you to have ongoing input into ensuring an effective learning experience, by being part of our Student Voice and Student Representative schemes. Our Student Union provides a platform for our learning community’s wants, needs, and opinions, to be recognised.

Our professional Mentors and Counsellors also strive to ensure that you have a fulfilling study experience and feel supported every step of the way.

Disability support

If you have a disability which affects your study, we will work with you to put an Additional Support Plan in place to ensure you have the right reasonable adjustments. We can also help you to access Disabled Students’ Allowance if it is appropriate for you.
