Teaching for 14 years (college and secondary schools) plus 3 years at a university (Nottingham Trent University).
Ashley is a dedicated education professional and scientist with extensive experience across secondary, further, and higher education. With a PhD in Neuroscience and Genetics and a strong academic foundation in Physiology, Pharmacology, and Applied Bioscience, Ashley combines deep subject expertise with over a decade of teaching and curriculum development. Currently serving as Curriculum Team Leader at our North Notts Campus, Ashley oversees science and health programs, develops curricula, monitors student progression, and delivers a wide range of courses from GCSEs to Foundation Degrees.
Ashley’s career highlights include designing and delivering innovative science lessons, supervising practical laboratory sessions, and promoting inclusivity in learning. His teaching roles have spanned diverse age groups, from secondary school students to adult learners and degree-level students. Ashley’s commitment to professional development is evident through active participation in CPD programs, safeguarding training, and blended learning initiatives.
In addition to academic roles, Ashley has contributed to research, notably at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, and Nottingham Trent University, exploring neurological disorders and memory mechanisms. He is adept at fostering student success, managing teams, and building partnerships with employers and universities. Outside work, Ashley enjoys martial arts, hiking, wildlife photography, and travel.
