Quiz Night: Tourism Students Host Level 3’s for a Fun-Filled Evening at UCR

25 April 2022

University Centre Rotherham (UCR) students hosted a quiz night for level 3’s who may be thinking of carrying on with their studies after college.

Level 4 Tourism and Hospitality students organised the evening as part of their course, where they are tasked with planning, organising and implementing a full-scale event.

The evening was centred around a quiz night, with various prizes on offer for the winners such as vouchers and Easter eggs. The students also put on food courtesy of The Wharncliffe, ensuring the event showed off how fantastic studying at UCR can be.

Lisa Bramley, Curriculum Team Leader in Tourism, stated that the event was important in showcasing what higher education courses have to offer.

She said: ‘’Putting on events like the quiz night allows the level 4 students to gain invaluable experience in planning, which they could use within the industry.

‘’Connecting University Centre Rotherham and Rotherham College is fantastic as it allows our level 3 students to see why they should go on to study higher education.

‘’The event was a great success and I am very proud of my students.’’

Elham Safarinezhad, a Level 4 Tourism and Hospitality student, stated that the event was really enjoyable and provides experience beyond the theory.

She said: ‘’The Quiz Night worked really well, helping to bring the college students together and show them the UCR Building.

‘’We have worked hard together, sharing ideas, communicating and working together, which has given us all great experience to use within the industry.

‘’My course at University Centre Rotherham allows me to learn beyond the classroom.’’
